Welcoming New Agents & Staff!

The Marchant Company is pleased to announce five new Realtors have joined their firm. Director of Veterans Services Lee Vining, Elise Francis, Charlotte Faulk, and a duo Lydia Johnson and Mikel-Ann Scott have come to find the growing local firm as the right place to do business.

Lee Vining joins the Marchant Company following a career in the military lasting over ten years. He has devoted himself to improving the lives of military men and women following their deployment. Lee was best suited as the Director of Veterans Services because of his commitment to serving the local community through the Upstate Warrior Solution and management of the Veteran’s Treatment Court. Lee spends a great deal of time seeking out homeless veterans to help them fill out the necessary paperwork to get VA Medical coverage.

Charlotte Faulk has decided to take the plunge into the real estate world after being on the sidelines as a banker for the past 25 years. The transition from banking to Real Estate is natural for Charlotte since her banking experience was primarily residential real estate lending.  Although not a native Greenvillian, Charlotte has spent a total of thirty years in the Upstate and claims it as home.  An active member of St. Paul’s Church, she enjoys exercising, college football and spending time at the beach.

Lydia Johnson began working in the Real Estate industry in 2001 as an account executive for The Homes section at The Greenville News. She also worked with The Greenville Journal in the launch of their “Friday Homes Report” (now “Journal Homes”) in 2004. With the knowledge obtained in marketing Upstate area homes, she made the transition to become a licensed agent in 2012 and now works with buyers and sellers. Lydia is married to a homebuilder who has built beautiful upstate homes and estates. “Our careers go hand and hand and we continue to learn more about the market and homes through each other’s expertise.”

Mikel-Ann Scott is a graduate of Clemson University with a degree in Mathematics and an option in Computer Science. She has over 11 years of experience in Real Estate print and digital marketing with The Greenville News and has enjoyed working with buyers and sellers since 2012. Mikel-Ann is a proud member of the Greater Greenville Association of REALTORS, the SC Association of REALTORS, and the National Association of REALTORS. She is heavily vested in our community through commitments to various organizations and charities. Mikel-Ann is an active member of First Presbyterian Church and enjoys spending time with her family.  After growing up in seven different states, she has lived in Greenville for 20 years and is happy to call the Upstate home.

The Marchant Company forms Veteran Services Division

The Marchant Company announces the formation of its Veteran Services Division which was created to offer real estate services to  military veterans and their families. Seabrook Marchant, President of The Marchant Company said, “As a veteran myself, I’m a big supporter of our military and the men and women who serve, and we want to assist them in this very important step in their lives. We are also proud to welcome Lee Vining a ten year Army veteran who will serve as director of this division”.

Lee will offer Veteran services and serve as the Home Solutions Specialist to former servicemen and women and their families in the Greater Greenville area. Lee believes “America’s heroes deserve the best representation to help navigate all the intricacies required to fulfill their dreams of owning their home.”

Following the terror attacks of 9/11, Lee felt compelled to join the military. At Ft. Lewis in Washington state, Lee served the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3/21 Infantry, Charlie Company. It was from Ft. Lewis that Lee was deployed for the first time to Mosul, Iraq where he would spend twelve months. Upon his return, Lee was assigned to Ft. Bragg in North Carolina, where he served in the 82nd Airborne Division. With the 82nd Airborne, Lee deployed to Iraq for the second time, this time to Baghdad and then to Haiti. After serving for ten years, Lee had no choice but to leave the Army due to medical conditions, but he refused to let his injuries stand in the way of service.

Lee relocated to Greenville, where he dedicated himself to developing and implementing a justice program for Veterans at the Greenville Detention Center. Since its start, the program has offered nearly 800 veterans the opportunity to enroll in VA medical services, find employment, connect with counseling services, and return to normalcy stateside. Lee has since partnered with Upstate Warrior Solution to help veterans find emergency, temporary, or permanent housing in our community. With a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from Troy State University of Alabama, Lee manages the Veteran’s Treatment Court, a diversion program for veterans with the 13th Circuit Court.

It is not uncommon for Lee to seek out opportunities to better the lives of his fellow veterans. Often Lee and his wife Teresa meet homeless veterans in Greenville and get them matched with VA medical services. A father of four, Lee also volunteers as a coach for his children’s flag football and soccer teams at the Traveler’s Rest YMCA.  Additionally, Lee is working to earn his Masters from Harvard Extension School in Non-Profit Management.
